Axial Extensometer Model 3542

General-purpose extensometers for axial tensile, compression, and cyclic testing. Gauge lengths range from 0.5 to 2 inches (10 to 80 mm), with measurement ranges from 5% to 100% strain. These extensometers are designed to test a wide range of materials, including metals, plastics, composites, and ceramics. All of this applies to both tension and compression testing.

The dual-flexure design makes them highly durable and insensitive to vibrations, allowing for higher operating frequencies. The quick-attach kit can be removed, enabling the extensometer to be mounted using springs or elastic bands.

Model 3542 extensometers are strain-gated devices, making them compatible with any electronics designed for strain gauge transducers. They are often connected to a testing machine controller.

.

Signal conditioning electronics for the extensometer are typically included with the testing machine controller or can often be added. In such cases, the extensometer is supplied with the appropriate connector and wiring for direct integration with the electronics.

.

For systems lacking the necessary electronics, Epsilon can provide a variety of solutions, allowing the extensometer to output signals compatible with data acquisition boards, chart recorders, or other equipment.
